Vista Foundation 48Hours
The Vista Foundation 48Hours is Aotearoa’s largest guerilla filmmaking competition. With only 48 hours to write, shoot, and cut a film, over 500 teams of filmmakers are plunged into an environment that encourages fast-paced decisions and creative risk-taking each year with huge prizes and big industry support.
Since 2016 Useful Media has been the backbone of the nationwide event, working hard to ensure teams have an fun and safe shoot weekend to the epic Grand Final event. The screening opportunities and array of prizes up for grabs are invaluable experiences to all teams, whether you’re a first-time filmmaker or veteran director.

“At the Grand Finals, you’re on the ground floor of some of the country’s brightest up-and-coming filmmaking talent, celebrating films that were made almost entirely for the joy of it.”
